English version

The Power of Attention in Light and Darkness

«Oppmerksomhetens kraft i lys og mørke» – a preview (2026). The book is written in Norwegian; the English title is a working translation.

It did not begin with dance. It began with attention. In 1984, at a fashion show at Park Hotell, a small boy stands completely still: a man from the USA glides backwards while it looks as if he is walking forwards. How is that possible? The question never let go – not as a trick, but as a riddle.

This is not an autobiography, but a book about attention, dance and movement, built on more than four decades of dance – from the living-room carpet to the town square, from breakdance to classical ballet, graphic design and back to dance as a dancer, training leader and dance teacher. It is written for Norwegian cultural life, about how instinct can become conscious work.
